Amelia Uribe is a competitive road cyclist, a sports nutrition specialist, and a member of the organizing team for GFNY República Dominicana. She is part of the Joey Cycling staff, where she contributes to event organization, community development, and social media management, while also leading the sports nutrition area through her project SmartFuel, an initiative focused on sports nutrition for endurance athletes. Through this project, she works with cyclists and other athletes to optimize performance, improve their relationship with food, and develop sustainable nutrition strategies for both training and competition.
She is currently completing her Associate’s Degree in Sports Science, with the goal of continuing her education in Sports Nutrition. She holds certifications such as Sports Nutrition Specialist (NCSF) and Endurance Sports Nutrition (UESCA), specializing in performance-focused nutrition strategies for endurance sports.
Amelia began her cycling journey in 2021 and started structured training to compete in 2023. Since then, she has competed as a licensed athlete in national and international events, quickly establishing herself within the competitive cycling scene.
Among her most notable results are her victory at GFNY Florida Sebring 2024, a 3rd-place finish at GFNY Florida Sebring 2025, and her participation in the GFNY World Championship in New York (2025). She has also been the national runner-up in road cycling in the Dominican Republic twice (2024 and 2025). As a licensed athlete, she has competed in stage races and international championships across Latin America, including Vuelta Femenina Guatemala, Tour El Salvador, the COPACI Pan American Championships, and the Caribbean Championships, competing against some of the top athletes in the region.
Beyond competition, Amelia has been an active person since childhood and has practiced various sports throughout her life. However, cycling has become the sport that has shaped her the most, combining her passion for performance, discipline, and personal growth.
Through GFNY República Dominicana and the initiatives of Joey Cycling, Amelia works alongside Joey Marti in developing athletes within the cycling community, supporting cyclists of different levels in their preparation for endurance events through training and sports nutrition.
